Bentonville – The NWA Tech Council, established by the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce in 2014, will host the first Biz + Ed2 Conference on Tuesday, June 23 at Bentonville High School, a unique conference with tracks for students and business attendees. The conference will present an opportunity for collaboration between students and businesses to solve a business issue through the use of technology. High school students from the Northwest Arkansas region will compete to solve “real world” business issues submitted by local business partners. The winning student team receives $1,000 to continue developing their business solution and a two-week paid internship. They will also present their idea to a panel of professionals at the Tech Summit which will be held November 10, 2015 at the John Q. Hammons Center.
While students are working on their solutions, a series of breakout workshops will be held for business attendees on several following relevant topics.
Keynote speaker for the event is Rick Webb, Senior Vice-President of Global Processes with Walmart. A presentation on the Lean Canvas approach to developing business plans or solving problems within your business will be led by Jeff Amerine, Founding Principal of Startup Junkie Consulting.
The Biz + Ed2 conference is sponsored by RevUnit, a digital product and marketing agency.
