I am on a mission to encourage people to buy local, especially in Arkansas. Instead of spending more money at the big box stores, support your local businesses.
Small Business Saturday is Saturday, November 28th. If you can, get out and support your local businesses. Who wants to shop on Black Friday, right? Not me. I will stay home and watch football thank you.
In recent years, Cyber Monday has become popular. Patrons stay home and shop on the internet at their favorite etailer. Cyber Monday is on November 30th. Did you know that Arkansas has several companies with robust ecommerce websites?
We are going to showcase some of the local etailers you can choose to shop and help keep money in the pockets of Arkansans.
Buy local by the numbers
Need some data? We have it for you.
According to a study by Sage:
Small businesses create jobs – According to the January 2015 Jobs Report, small businesses in the U.S. created nearly 2 million of the approximately 3 million private-sector jobs generated in 2014.
More money goes back into the community – In fact, $68 of every $100 spent stays in the local community vs. $43 with a larger retailer.
For every $100 I spend in a locally, $68 stays in my community. And small businesses, they are creating the jobs, right?
Do some looking, find local businesses to buy from this holiday season. As a point of reference, I have added some below and hope to add more soon.
Now, I need you to do me a favor. When you share this with your friends on social media, use the hashtag #buylocalAR
